Abstract

DATA-001 contains exactly 6,236 verses.

Because the total is even, the corpus has two central verse positions:

  • position 3,118
  • position 3,119

Under DATA-001, those positions are:

Global position Verse RAW words BODY words
3,118 26:186 9 9
3,119 26:187 9 9

The central positions themselves were reported before Coran Codex and are therefore treated as previously known.

Coran Codex independently reproduces those positions.

A separate deterministic observation is that both central verses contain exactly nine words under both RAW and BODY.

The midpoint and the 9/9-word property must not be conflated: prior art for the midpoint has been established, while exact prior art for the 9/9-word sub-observation has not been established in the present review.

Research Question

Given a Quranic corpus containing exactly 6,236 verse identifiers:

  1. which verses occupy global positions 3,118 and 3,119?
  2. what are their word counts under RAW?
  3. what are their word counts under BODY?
  4. are the midpoint positions previously reported?
  5. does the 9/9-word observation support a calibrated rarity claim?

Dataset & Counting Rules

  • Dataset: DATA-001
  • Methodology: METHOD-001
  • Total verses: 6,236
  • Views: RAW and BODY
  • Central positions: 6236 / 2 = 3118, followed by position 3119

Verse positions are determined from the canonical DATA-001 verse order.

No verse is removed by the BODY transformation.

BODY changes only the documented opening Basmala prefix in 112 first verses.

Deterministic Midpoint

The corpus contains:

6,236 verses

Therefore:

6,236 / 2 = 3,118

For an even-length ordered sequence, the two central entries are positions:

  • 3,118
  • 3,119

The DATA-001 mapping is:

Position Verse
3,118 26:186
3,119 26:187

Thus the two central verses are:

26:186

and

26:187

Central Verse Texts

Verse 26:186 is:

وما أنت إلا بشر مثلنا وإن نظنك لمن الكاذبين

Verse 26:187 is:

فأسقط علينا كسفا من السماء إن كنت من الصادقين

The global positions are determined independently of the word-count observation.

Word Counts

Under RAW:

Verse Word count
26:186 9
26:187 9

Under BODY:

Verse Word count
26:186 9
26:187 9

Therefore the separate word-count observation is:

9 / 9

Both central verses contain nine words under both registered DATA-001 views.

RAW/BODY Robustness

The BODY transformation does not affect either central verse.

Therefore:

  • the global positions remain 3,118 and 3,119;
  • the verse identifiers remain 26:186 and 26:187;
  • the word counts remain 9 and 9.

For this narrow deterministic measurement, RAW and BODY produce identical outputs.

This does not by itself establish statistical rarity.

Prior Art

The general midpoint relationship is previously known.

A publication predating Coran Codex explicitly describes the 6,236-verse total as two halves of 3,118 verses and identifies:

  • the end of the first half at 26:186
  • the beginning of the second half at 26:187

Accordingly, Coran Codex does not claim discovery of the midpoint positions.

The role of QMR-004 is to reproduce that positional fact independently on DATA-001.

The separate 9/9-word observation must be treated separately.

The present prior-art review has not established that the exact 9/9-word sub-property was previously reported.

Absence of located prior art is not proof of novelty.

Statistical Analysis

QMR-004 does not assign a conventional p-value to the fact that both central verses contain nine words.

The exact historical rarity procedure associated with this observation was not recovered.

A valid probability claim would require a justified model specifying, among other things:

  • what corpus structures are allowed to vary;
  • what positions could have been selected;
  • what word-count equalities were eligible;
  • what target counts could have been noticed;
  • what other numerical properties were searched.

Without such a model, the equality:

9 / 9

is a deterministic observation, not a calibrated significance result.

Multiple Testing

A midpoint analysis could potentially notice many properties after inspecting the two central verses:

  • equal word counts;
  • equal letter counts;
  • arithmetic properties of the counts;
  • verse numbers;
  • surah numbers;
  • sums and differences;
  • lexical properties;
  • other numerical coincidences.

The effective historical search family is not recoverable.

For that reason, Coran Codex does not convert the 9/9 observation into a statistical discovery claim.

Interpretation Standard

Fact

Under DATA-001:

  • total verse count = 6,236
  • global position 3,118 = 26:186
  • global position 3,119 = 26:187
  • 26:186 contains 9 words under RAW
  • 26:187 contains 9 words under RAW
  • both remain 9 words under BODY

Statistical interpretation

The midpoint positions are exact deterministic properties of the ordered DATA-001 corpus.

The 9/9-word equality is also deterministic.

No calibrated rarity or corrected significance level is assigned to the 9/9 observation.

Claim

Coran Codex independently reproduces the previously reported midpoint positions:

26:186 / 26:187

It additionally records the separate DATA-001 observation that both contain nine words.

Not claimed

QMR-004 does not establish:

  • discovery of the midpoint;
  • statistical significance of the 9/9-word equality;
  • proof that the 9/9 property is historically novel;
  • supernatural origin;
  • divine intent or theological significance.

No supernatural or divine conclusion follows from this result.

Why the Status Is Observation

The midpoint itself is previously reported and independently reproduced.

However, QMR-004 also contains the separate 9/9-word observation.

Exact independent prior reproduction of that sub-property has not been established.

Assigning the entire study Reproduced / E4 could therefore imply that every reported component has independent replication.

The study-wide metadata remain deliberately conservative:

Observation / E1

while the text explicitly records that the midpoint itself is independently reproduced.

Limitations

The word count depends on the counting conventions defined by DATA-001.

No statistical null model has been established for the 9/9 observation.

The prior-art conclusion is also asymmetric:

  • the midpoint is established as previously known;
  • the exact historical status of the 9/9-word sub-property remains unresolved.

These distinctions must remain visible.

Verdict

Status: Observation

Evidence level: E1

Classification: Confirmatory

Novelty: Previously Known

Discovery: No

The positional result is:

6,236 / 2 = 3,118

with:

3,118 -> 26:186

and:

3,119 -> 26:187

Both verses contain:

9 words / 9 words

under RAW and BODY.

The midpoint is previously known.

The 9/9-word observation is recorded separately and is not promoted to a statistical or novelty claim.
