Abstract
QMR-011 examines a simple structural equality in the fixed DATA-001 Quran corpus:
surah number = verse number = Arabic-letter count
There are 48 eligible diagonal verse positions in DATA-001 where a verse S:S actually exists.
Exactly one of those positions also has a letter count equal to the same number:
20:20 = 20 letters
The verse is:
فألقاها فإذا هي حية تسعى
Under the counting convention used by DATA-001, the compact Arabic-letter sequence is:
فألقاهافإذاهيحيةتسعى
and contains exactly 20 letters.
The same single match is obtained in both RAW and BODY modes.
This is a deterministic and reproducible corpus observation. It is not, by itself, evidence of an unusual probabilistic anomaly.
Deterministic Result
The search space is restricted to verses satisfying:
surah number = verse number
Only 48 such verse identifiers exist in the canonical corpus because many later surahs do not contain a verse whose number equals the surah number.
Among those 48 eligible diagonal positions, the exhaustive result is:
| Mode | Eligible diagonal positions | S = V = L matches |
|---|---|---|
| RAW | 48 | 1 |
| BODY | 48 | 1 |
The only match in both modes is:
| Surah | Verse | Letters |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | 20 | 20 |
Therefore, within DATA-001 and under the stated letter-count convention, 20:20 is the unique observed S = V = L equality.
Statistical Context
The historical 2025 material attached an extreme probability claim to the observation, including a value written as:
< 10^-8
That historical probability is not retained.
A modern null model was instead defined explicitly.
For each eligible surah, its observed sequence of verse lengths is circularly rotated independently. This preserves:
- the exact number of verses in each surah;
- the exact multiset of verse lengths within each surah;
- the identity of the target diagonal position;
- the corpus-level surah structure.
Under this model, each surah contributes a probability equal to the proportion of its verses whose letter count equals that surah number.
The resulting count of diagonal matches follows the corresponding Poisson-binomial distribution.
RAW
Expected number of diagonal matches:
0.249430915745
Observed:
1
Probability of observing at least one match:
0.223714920053
BODY
Expected number of diagonal matches:
0.254430915745
Observed:
1
Probability of observing at least one match:
0.227596345453
These values do not support treating the single observed match as statistically exceptional under this null model.
The p-value is not the probability that the null hypothesis is true, and it is not a probability of authorship or intent.
Surah 20 Context
Surah 20 contains 135 verses.
Within that surah, 5 verses have a length of exactly 20 Arabic letters under the RAW convention.
Therefore, if the observed verse-length sequence of surah 20 is circularly shifted, the probability that verse position 20 receives a 20-letter verse is:
5 / 135 = 0.037037037037
This local probability is not used as the primary significance measure because surah 20 was identified from the broader diagonal search rather than specified independently in advance.
The global diagonal null is therefore the more appropriate context for the observed result.
Historical Reconstruction
The recovered 2025 record correctly pointed to a numerical 20:20:20 relationship, but it displayed the wrong verse text.
It presented:
واصطنعتك لنفسي
as Quran 20:20.
In DATA-001, that phrase is actually:
20:41
and contains 13 letters, not 20.
The actual Quran 20:20 in DATA-001 is:
فألقاها فإذا هي حية تسعى
with exactly 20 letters.
The recovered document also reported auxiliary counts that do not reproduce under DATA-001. For example, the modern RAW reconstruction gives:
L = V: 69 cases;L = S: 33 cases;S = V: 48 eligible cases;S = V = L: 1 case.
The historical probability model and stronger interpretive claims are therefore not carried forward into QMR-011.
RAW / BODY Robustness
BODY removes the exact four-token opening Basmala prefix from verse 1 of 112 eligible surahs while preserving all 6,236 verse identifiers.
The target verse 20:20 is unaffected by this transformation.
Both modes produce exactly the same observed triple-equality set:
{20:20}
The BODY transformation changes some background verse-length distributions, which is why the null probabilities differ slightly between RAW and BODY, but it does not alter the deterministic observation.
Prior Art and Novelty
The count of 20 letters at Quran 20:20 was published before the recovered August 2025 KS-Ω record.
QMR-011 therefore does not claim discovery of the 20-letter count itself.
The classification is:
Previously Known
The contribution of QMR-011 is narrower:
- corpus fixation on DATA-001;
- explicit Arabic-letter counting;
- exhaustive identification of all eligible
S = Vpositions; - confirmation that 20:20 is the only
S = V = Lmatch in DATA-001; - independent RAW/BODY verification;
- correction of the historical 20:41 misattribution;
- replacement of the historical probability claim with an explicit exact null model;
- a frozen reproducible JSON artifact.
The available prior-art evidence establishes earlier publication of the 20-letter count. It does not by itself establish that every component of the present exhaustive diagonal protocol had already been published.
Interpretation Limits
QMR-011 establishes a reproducible structural property of DATA-001 under the stated counting convention.
It does not establish intentional design.
It does not establish that verse 20:20 was positioned in order to create the numerical equality.
It does not establish a causal mechanism.
It does not establish theological intent.
It does not constitute evidence of supernatural design.
The observation should therefore be interpreted as a property of the fixed corpus under the stated protocol.
